Wildstar Where are we at with Wildstar?

So from what I can tell from all indications out there among the interwebs regarding Wildstar, it seems that the hype train is about to start ramping up rather quickly heading toward launch. Now in keeping up with the state of the game I have also been paying attention to the other major gaming communities out there and watching all of the usual podcasts.

Among the more notable ones including Subterfuge Vanguard, Team Legacy, Guild Umbra, MOG Nation, Grievance they seem to be really generating a lot of buzz about Wildstar and are at the forefront of recruitment and getting this game known out there in social media.

So then I can't help but ask myself where is Alttabme? Back when I first heard of Wildstar, Alttabme was among the most active communities out there talking about Wildstar, and seemed to be getting hyped and excited about the game. I understand the news of Spring 2014 launch sort of bridled a lot of peoples own hype, myself included, but now a lot of communities out there seem to be all about Wildstar again.

The next few weeks promise to deliver huge and exciting news according to Carbine's own David Bass so do we have plans to get in on the hype to drive recruitment and community excitement for the game? I guess what I'm asking is what are our plans concerning Wildstar as we approach launch? I haven't heard a lot from leadership and would like to better understand where we're at.

Coming up rather quickly we should see the final 2 class reveals, which I think must happen before the next and final round of beta which Carbine wanted to relaunch in October. Then we will have guild raiding in beta, followed by a big emphasis on Warplots around the end of the year. Shortly after I'm sure we will be finding out news of open beta and such by Feb next year. It's right around the corner so I can't help but think we are about to be absolutely bombarded with major Wildstar news on an almost weekly basis starting here pretty soon.

I'm still excited about the game and it will be the major focus of my gaming time if not the only game I play depending on how good it really is and how much it can suck me in to the world of Nexus. So who's with me? Who's still excited about Wildstar? I'm just wondering how people out there in Alttabme are still holding up since release was pushed back.

This is by no means a criticism of anyone so I hope it doesn't come across this way. I proof read several times hoping it sounded ok and not like a complaining or whining type of post. It really is just me asking where we're at and who's still excited and what are your individual plans for Wildstar and then from leadership what are our plans as a whole approaching launch.

Thanks for reading, Rick

I know you're mainly after a 'direction of the guild response', but I know I hyped down a bit with the break between betas and slowing of information coming out due to that. r/Wildstar is not as busy, WSC is not as busy, even Twitter chat is not as busy, etc.. so I don't think I'm alone. However, I have not lost a single bit of excitement! I'm just using this time to get things done, so when the game does release.. I have more free time to play it, rather than spending that time playing games I'm not that interested in. I'll be all on board the hype train as soon as Carbine starts that ramp up. complete with PAXeast tickets purchased so I can see them at their booth again this year :)

Welcome question and actually a good one at that.
  • We are all very excited for this game, but not excited to take time out of very busy schedules to podcast every week yet.
  • We have tickets to PAX all leadership.
  • We a already working behind the scenes to setup a one or two monthly podcast for Wildstar until it ramps up more.
  • We really dislike podcasting about things that aren't fun for us, right now with BF4 we are more focused on getting a good presence there while we wait.
  • Because the game is so far out, it is fair to wait a little before we hype it up to the point of just becoming a hype train for hype itself.
  • All our plans are still the same: http://alttabme.com/forum/index.php?forums/wildstar-tab-manuals-expectations-guidelines.147/
  • We do want to bring people in, but know the danger of bringing in people too soon. You get a lot of half assed enthusiasts.
  • Right now everyone is fighting for the same people. The people who KNOW about wildstar are actually NOT that large of a pool. So we are still stuck with the WSC group of recruits.

All that being said: Yes we will be doing more podcasts. Yes we are super excited. Yes we will be having at least 1 or two podcasts a month until after Christmas when we will ramp up hard.

That answer most of it?

Now that being said, on a personal effect, I am a freelancer and opportunity has knocked hard. I have to put a lot of my effort into that to keep this site up and running for you all. I don't make a lot of money and when something like this hits I have to go full bore. What does that mean for you guys? Please please pick up the slack if you want. If you guys want to make MORE podcasts when we are not, I will help you all to set them up and sponsor them up as an AltTabMe contribution. This is a group community. We all make it work, not just 1 or 2 people who have the title of "leader" that is really the most important thing to take away from this.

Step up, break that comfort zone, and make shit happen!

I know Zakis will be hosting tons of BF4 nights coming up as well.

I can't agree with this post enough! Also the forums are there for those interested in organizing a night/weekend/whatever for ANY game. ANYONE can do that, so if some of you folks are really enjoying a game and want to make a community night out of it, don't hesitate.

I'm still planning to play pretty freakin' hardcore at launch and I'm really excited to podcast again, when there is something to podcast about. Tristan summed up everything pretty damn well.

Pretty sure we're all still super excited. This last month or so has just been pretty slow...I can't think of anything really that big since the release of the last two races. Uh...smaller types of dungeons maybe?

I will expect the train will be rolling along with a positive dv/dt come 2014.

As was said by the others, we are all still really hyped for the game. The lul right now is because of the lul from carbine. Since our last podcast there has been enough info for maybe 2 podcasts. That is probably the biggest reason we stopped for now.

What I expect is to ramp up after the new year sometime. I can see us being big on the recruitment and hype trains about 2 months out from release. That way like Tr1age said, all the people who aren't already hyped for it will start to hear about it and want in.

this exactly. Right now we all are focused on bunches of other things: work, school, pokemans, bf4, gtav, etc. If anyone feels the urge to do some community sponsored things like a podcast or a game night or whatever, let us know and we will help, or just get it running.

There is something amazing about a community that REALLY does, outlast release dates. :)

I'm actually avoiding info for the most part right now so I can avoid getting myself burned out. However; once we get close I'm sure I'll be deep into it again haha

I'm kinda on this same wavelength right now. I'm focusing on all the other games that are out/coming out so I will be refreshed for MMO's again when WS releases. I hit the end of FFXIV within a month and hit the "raid, grind, or don't play" wall. I put in easily 250+ hours in about 30 days. I'm enjoying my work/social life/casual playing right now so when WS does launch, I can jump right in and do that same with WS as I did FFXIV and WoW, and hopefully not get bored.

Personally I can't wait for it to come out and the flood gates of information to come out again. These past two months I have been quite busy though as well, starting to get my degree seems to take a lot of my time up and little WS updates helped it not become a large distraction! lol

Yeah I'm actually really happy for the way this is playing out. Fall is always the busiest time of year for me. Lots if changes and opportunities. And wildstar will obvious ruin a lot of my time haha. Plus I met a girl in getting to know!

Like everybody has already stated. I'm still very excited to get into the Nexus. I check the wildstar site every Wed. Right now just passing my time with Terraria and WoW.

Wildstar is always simmering at the back of my mind. You can bet that as soon as more info comes out, I'll be go completely nuts over it for as long as it bears discussion.

Pretty much all the announcements outside of NDA have been gone over at length. If you catch me on Mumble, I'd be happy to speculate and geek out as much as you like, but there's only so many OMG WILDSTAR!!! threads I can post, as much as I'd like to.

In the meantime, Hearthstone Beta, WoW, and Pokemon are keeping me occupied so I don't go COMPLETELY INSANE with anticipation.

Rest assured, my friend. Our passion is merely boiling beneath the surface, soon it will explode.

I'm actually happy that it got delayed. Its been really hectic around this time until Christmas due to saving for disney. I wouldn't have been able to sub this time of year. Since it will be sometime spring i'll have sufficient funds and will be able to go from launch and play with the team.

Don't get me wrong i am still extremely excited for the game. So i am trying to keep myself from looking at any content until it gets close so i don't hype myself to much before it even gets here.

So until then i will be playing other games to keep me occupied.

I will probably jump on the train when the actual release date is announced and its within 3-4 months till release.

Didn't they officially say some time in March? or am I remembering something old.
