RP GAMES The Resistance (beta 1.712)

Just because I'm not jumping up and down making blank statements and tossing out fingers doesn't make me a spy. Actually it's normally the paranoid ones that have the greatest reason to be paranoid. For example, a guy over and over claims that his girl is cheating without any evidence, it's probably because he is cheating and he thinks that if he is than she must as well. Nothing has happened in this game to make anyone suspicious, the only reason you'd even think there is a spy is because the rules of the game state that there are 4 spies.

Crazy busy morning at work.

Anyway, what I was saying earlier isn't as relevant now since the next picks have been made.

Spies really need to make this mission fail or they are going to go into panic mode. However, if all the spies in there vote fail, that's going to help us out a lot.

I agree that Theif is acting suspiciously, but I can't decide if that's just inexperience. Sometimes sincerity goes too far and he may have crossed that line.

When I consider the amount of information available to everyone, I don't think there is anyway for anyone to have identified anyone else's alignment. The ball is in the spies' court here, they are the only ones that can move. They better be careful, though.

Otakebi is a good choice. He's new and hasn't said a thing. He can't be getting coaching from a more experienced spy since they don't know who each other are. I think it likely that we would have seen participation out of him if he were in a spy role. If he is a spy, he's more likely than others to slip up and reveal himself this round.

A new rule has been added to the original rule set:
  • Once a group PM has been started, no other members can be added to the PM.
This amendment to the existing rule set is purely a precaution.
(...or is it?)

If this mission goes through, the following will happen:

1. It will succeed, great that's one more victory for the resistance, same team picked will eventually be picked for the next mission and the resistance will win the game.
2. It will fail (one vote against), victory for the spies, whole new team will be picked. If there was only one spy in the first pool of people, there is then a 100% chance that there will be at least one spy in the next pool of people; thus leading to, more than likely, another spy victory. Which would then leave 2 people who have not participate in any mission that would have to be grouped with 3 other people from the previous missions. At that point it then becomes a gamble with conjecture in order to try and pick resistance members. Baring in mind that 2 out of the 5 members must be spies in order to fail the mission. But if that 4th mission were to then fail, that would be the end of the game. But all of this conjecture may go wrong in the event that at any point besides the fourth mission there is a double vote for failure in a mission.
3. A double vote to fail comes out of this mission, this leads once again to a completely new group being picked. With at least 2 spies out of the way, you are then left with a 3rd mission where you will pick 4 people, and of the remaining people being 4 resistance and 2 spies. A very unlikely chance that you will pick a group that does not include a spy, which would then lead to spies going up on 2-1 advantage. Leading to the fourth mission which will once again be a gamble to picking a team that will not fail.

So if this mission plays out, it will be a dice roll that will either lead to an immediate victory (being that a spy doesn't pass this mission and giving the resistance the 2-0 advantage). Or it will lead to the spies eventually having a 2-1 advantage and we will once again have to roll the dice again in hopes of finding that successful group.

In the end, even if this mission is chosen not to go through, it will be a dice roll as far as hard evidence goes. On conjecture, unless said right-out that they are a spy, which we have seen, will people be able to make any type of decision based on trust that would change this from being a dice-roll victory for the resistance.

That is the problem. We don't know who anyone is. But some people have said more than they think they did.

I have to agree with Kel there. If you're resistance, you'll want that information out in the open so they can watch those you suspect like a hawk. And that's the aim of the game, pretty much.

Bruce, thank you for making yourself MORE suspicious. Are you sure you don't want to do a podcast where you announce you're not a spy? Your disingenuous status update only serves to hurt you. It serves to make you more suspicious as a spy, which is bad if you ARE a spy, and also makes the resistance trust you less. Which is also bad if you are NOT a spy.

Or you're just reading too far into things.

Hey, I took a course pf psychology too! I call penis envy. <3

I never studied psychology at school. I studied it over YEARS of being betrayed and lied to as a child. Up to and including getting sexually assaulted by my mother's boyfriend. So my bullshit detector is pretty fucking strong. The most 'open' people are the ones with the most to hide. Did you learn nothing from Diremongoose's MASTERCLASS on how to be totally open and WIN THE WHOLE DAMN THING?

Wake up.

I'm glad I have your attention now. So believe me when I say if you ARE resistance, you made a horrible misstep with your status update. Its recoverable, but you made a mistake.

And if you're a spy, well. It was still a stupid move. And I know you're smarter than that.

For the record, the commentary I made about my childhood is NOT a lie. Ask any of the people who know me. I would not lie about such heinous stuff. But it holds no pain for me anymore, so I used it to make a point. Apologies if anyone was shocked or upset by my comments.

So serious.

But the game shall continue as planned! When you choose which side I'm really on instead of the coin flip, let me know.

C'mon people, I offered you a valuable tool. You need to use it...saying publicly who you think to be a spy (as opposed to PMs) can only benefit the resistance. I will write my own updated assessment here soon, based on night time PMs. I don't mind telling you I have quite a lot of info...which I will share.

Thief - This has not changed. I'm about as sure as anything - 95%
Psionic - Appears to be resistance, but still can't shake the feeling I'm being played somehow. I've said as much to him. 40% (but see below)
Dainjre - Either he is a spy or Psionic is. Currently I think Dainjre is the most suspicious of the two - 70%
Kel - Still completely completely in-character for resistance, 25%
Dire - I'm talking to both sides, that much should be obvious, I just wish I knew which was which more clearly.
Gyoin - almost sure he's resistance, despite what Psionic claims. Has been consistently suspicious of my motives as well as other 'chatty' players. That said, holy shit is that update suspicious...still prepared to give him the cautious benefit of the doubt though. 25%

People who need to say more:
Otakebi - I have PMd Otakebi asking him to be more active. Given his responses he is clearly active, just not posting. 65%
Baldorax - Has barely commented. 50%
Sasquatauch - Newbie not much to go on. Still 50%
OneWhoRuns - A couple of odd posts. 55%
