The Japan Request Line

Howdy again Tabbers,

As many of you know I'm about to end my overseas adventure and become a lesser common bureaucratus exiguus.
While I'm very excited to become part of the Department of Ag. and live off all your tax dollars I thought I'd give back a little something in the form of customs smuggling.
Yay!

So if anyone has something they want from Japan I can grab it here, sneak it back in (preferably not in my rectum again) and ship it to you when I hit that sweet US soil.
I'm willing to search a little to find things, but anything expensive like a figurine or game would need to be reimbursed. Foods, candies, other minor stuff is paid for by your taxes through my impending salary.

So by declaration of the great Emperor of Japan:
"頼み事を許しています。Let the requests begin."

I'll send you a slice of NYC pizza for some good sake

Man I wouldn't even know what to ask for. Maybe just some of the crazier versions of snacks we have here and sake is also a good thing. Hey you are like an international bootlegger.

Not a really a request, but have you been to the sex stores in Akihabara yet? Especially the basement of said establishment?

The big problem with Sake is once you hit the states you're pretty much done.
As in unless you really want to bootleg it in your own car there's no way to ship it to anyone. Most states draw a lot of revenue through liquor taxes or ban certain types of liquor all-together, so generally (things are slowly changing) shipping companies will not transport it across state lines. Then because of the age verification issues they usually wont ship it within the state either.
There are some exceptions for wine clubs and other organizations, but they usually have licences to operate from the individual states, and age confirm all customers for the delivery companies.

So... Sake is pretty much out unless you want to come to Michigan.

I've not been to the really goofy ones yet. Seen sex shops in many countries and unless its a really specific fetish shop they are pretty much all the same.
I may have to take a trip before I leave though, they have some amazing fetishes here in Japan, amazing.

I'd love some kind of figurine or something that is unique to the area. Something small that I can display on my desk. Could be gaming or culture related. Nothing too expensive, but I could certainly pay for item/transport.

I want a dakimakura, because I’m lonely and pathetic. Feels like it would be expensive to ship it to Europe though.

boo i was thinking Sake as well. I had some when i visited Japan 2 Christmas ago <_< >_> at Disney World

Do me a favor and grab me one of the to scale gundam models and fly it over to my place. It'll look great in my back yard, and when i pilot it to work

If you see anything Chibi - Megaman related (specifically ProtoMan), I will send you money for it.

Also, loving the tags!

It should be possible, if I can cram it in a box small enough.
The real problem with them is the space they take up.

Any character choice? I'm planning on an Akihabara trip this next week.

I'm kinda in the same boat. I have no idea what I would want, but if you get me something unique I'm sure I will love it.

And I can pay you in lumpia when I visit over the summer <3

Oh, I didn't realize they'd done a version of Char's custom Zaku. Bring me that, and blame it on the misfortune of your birth. (Famous line from the anime)

Actually I'm with Dainjre on bringing back the full size Gundam.

There's so much good stuff in Japan. Plus, it would need to be something that I couldn't find in Japantown... Hmmmmm

The hardest thing about leaving Japan is deciding what can fit in your suitcase.
Still, don't worry I already had everything lined up for a nice surprise for everyone.

Just seeing if there was something really specific people wanted I had no idea existed.
I'm going to ship some things home anyway, so that opened up some unexpected space.
