Tackling my "old" unfinished games library

Thovarisk

[Ragnarok was his name]
well after my second toon leveled to 80 in GW2 I feel like I need a rest or I just might burn myself off the game, So it's time I get arround at least finishing some of the games in my shelf (or steam. w/e)

Started today on ps3 and oldie: Oblivion!
A Nord Adventurer heavy melee shield and sword, I'll focus on the main storyline, no sidequesting.
Let's see how long it takes me to finish this one.

What do you guys have on your shelf and never finished it?

you have some rather odd tastes in games my friend, but that's ok spread the love... and shrooms I guess

On the last flight I took, I made a long list of them. A looooooooong list. For years I got games for Christmas and birthdays and sometimes I even bought them, but never played them. I only really seem to finish games when I'm not playing an MMO or it's something I've been waiting for for a long time (like Alice: Madness Returns *looks at Triage's avatar* :)). Part of my problem is that I'm a completionist and I get overwhelmed with the newer games these days- like Assassin's Creed or any Final Fantasy game. So I find it simpler to just stick to my MMOs and work on achievements if I'm bored of the regular grind. I've been trying to get back into some of the games I started and never finished though! I'm waiting for a new computer to finish Skyrim and some bigger chunks of time to play Pokemon B/W and Okamiden. I never even finished Rune Factory 2, because I wanted to get every little thing.. and I was on the last bit! Bah.

I have crazy varied tastes in games. Probably the only thing I haven't dabbled a lot in is FPS, though I have played a few. I'm the same way with music, fashion, TV, movies. My brain is very indecisive I guess.

yeah dude i feel ya... i haven't finished skyrim either and i bought it the day it released... but then again i wanted to do EVERYTHING in that game.. nowadays its more like "lets just finish it for now.."

oh wow, i'm working on just getting to the end of so many games right now,
syndicate, red dead redemption and saints row 3 on xbox 360

torchlight 2 and borderlands 2 on steam
then i still need to get a char to 80 on GW2

not to mention some open ended games i havnt got to the end of a campaign/game of yet like civilisation 5, blood bowl, anno 2070

my days, so much fun so little time.

Mainly just Planetside 2 for now. Finishing up my second Borderlands 2 playthrough and Minecraft. I been thinking about a new Skyrim character. Skyrim/Minecraft are usually my go to games if I am in between MMOs or bored. So easy to get lost in Skyrim or lose track of time building in Minecraft.

I just started into Oblivion as well. I decided it might be nice to revisit some other parts of Tamriel, Cyrodiil specifically, where LOTS of action is rumored to have taken place 1000 years before the events of Skyrim and 700 years before the events of Oblivion. hehe You might be able to guess what I'm aiming for.

I never beat all of Legend of Zelda 2: Adventure of Link :(

I recently got a Nexus 7 tablet and I threw a bunch of emulators on there with all kinds of classic games, including the old school zeldas on NES and stuff. Should keep me busy at work...like forever.

yeah oblivion is a great game but i'm not aiming to visit all of it... don't have enough time to play ... I'll just beat the game, no min/maxing no fine tuning the toon... just a simple melee build specializing in mace shield heavy armor... easy enough right?

Android tablet? Hook me up with the link to that emulator and games. I have an Asus transformer t300 and can use some old school gaming.

I've completed all the classic games and RPG's that interested me, either by story complete or, more than likely, 100% completionist style. Now I'm just playing Black Ops 2 with my buddy, or fiddling with Pokemon to get all 649 before X/Y launch. Sadly I'm achieving that goal faster than planned.... So I started dabbling in online battling as well for shits and giggles. Not gonna lie, that metagame is pretty fierce. Maybe not LoL fierce, but it's definitely competitive.

But yeah... Go through like, original zelda up to skyward sword or something. Or, even more challenging, play through a timeline of zelda. That'd be more fun.

How are you getting the old legendaries like Jirachi, Celebi, Manaphy, Shaymin, etc.? I had wanted to get all pokemon, even by buying the older games (this is probably easier now with B/W2). I didn't bother much, because I knew I couldn't get those event pokemon (except through trades, but who's going to trade whatever crappy ones I can get for those).

The GTS trading system of negotiations. It's possible to also find them via r/pokemontrades on reddit. I actually have already filled all of those just through general trading on the GTS, all shifted out for something else (I scored a torchic shiny from one >_>). Usually with a well placed shiny or other legendary, you can kinda get a rotation trade just to fill the pokedex.

Ah. I was hoping to keep at least a Jirachi and Shaymin. I knew it was too good to be true! :p

I haven't had any luck with shinies either. /sadface

I currently have... 4 shiny's sitting in my PC. Mostly acquired through trades. I know a lot of people have Jirachi's from colosseum, and Shaymin isn't too hard to acquire at the moment either. It's Darkrai that seems pretty fucking hard to acquire. But I have all the regi's, dogs, mew/mewtwo, recent ones... I'm still in the process of acquiring the birds though.
