What's new

Post your RIDE!

Manual or bust imho.

My first car was a 79 Thunderbird, was automatic and awesome. My second car was a 93 Eclipse, manual. It was just a basic model, no turbos or anything. My 3rd car was a 2000 Civic Si, manual as they all were. Was my favorite car by far. Had basic bolt ons, intake, exhaust, after market body kit and rims. I don't have any digital pics of it but maybe one day I will scan a pic or two and post them. Nothing special since then, an automatic 97 Taurus... My brother, however, bought the car I wanted and I hate him for it. He has a 2011 Mazda Speed3 which he bought new. He bought a teal one but the car is still super sexy. I prefer it in black.

Also, Tristan, that RX8 is super sexy! I am a Mazda fan.

i mean look at it. not even cushioned.

over here in the good ol' United Kingdom we drive 'manual' car. because we change the gears manually instead of automatically. i guess we just have an excess of skillage.

Very nice ES! 96/97? And I like the Prius. We had one for awhile... Great mpg... Annoying cvt
I Love the ES and its a 99 it has 226k on it now and still runs like a dream no leaking had to replace the starter and break pads and that's it! That Prius is the cheap one the "c" LV.2 so pretty base it is great for what it is and what it cost....I get about 62-68 mpg in the city, my best is 78!

Nice. I can't tell the diff on the ES from the side... show me the taillights or the headlights and I can... they moved the badging from on the taillight to off on the series 2 run of the ES300's. Those cars run forever. Not to mention they have one of the strongest blowing HVAC units I have ever seen in a car. As far as Lexus' go, I have only taken over one from my partner for a while (IS300), but he has owned 25+ Lexus alone. He just had a '10 RX350 and traded back down one month later because we found him an '04 LS430 with the Ultra Luxury package along with the pre-collision with only 50k mi on it, absolute DREAM of a car... more technology and features than most new cars (radar guided cruise, pre-collision sonar, dynamic assist, swinging air vents, purifier, rear refrigerator, rear audio system, heated/cooled/massaging/reclining rear seats... it goes on and on). He had an LS460 before the RX and really the 460's pale in comparison to the 430's in my opinion. The 430 is a much better design and timeless. The 460 looks like it's trying too hard...

I'll throw a pic of the 430 up when we detail it this weekend. It's gorgeous.

Mmmm... beastly little turbomonger that is. DSG or Manual (curious on how the DSG is on those...)? Have you heard about the whole Soundaktor 'scandal' Harlequin? VW replaced the noise pipe from the engine with a speaker that makes added noise/vibration called the Soundaktor...

Nah I haven't heard that. This is the V6, which as far as I know had flapper valve or whatever on the muffler for added effect. The new R has the 2.0 Turbo, maybe that's what your referring too?

I just did a little research, apparently it was added into the 2011 GTI's.

Mine was the 08 R32, DSG by default. Love DSG...

we Love ours! I took a guy on a test drive with the IS and the GS and loved the GS have to say tho that the new es350 look good more of that "walk softly and carry a big stick" design that we know and love in our Lexus..There is a ( hybrid ) ES and Avalon com-n soon so I'm looking forward to that!

What do you think of the Scion FRS? I sold 3 the first week they came out LOL!! Not hard to do!

I have been a huge fan of the FR-S/BRZ since its conception, but I am afraid that a lot of the models will be utterly lost on who they are sold to. I'm sure a lot of people will buy them with the intention of them being drag cars, stoplight racers, etc... which they are not. They aren't meant to be extremely powerful, just balanced. Still, a great platform. My only dislike is the stock wheels... it's been a while since I thought stocker's were just hideous. I hate them.

I really have never been a HUGE ES fan after the generation you have b/c they just look like pansied Camry's (in fact I'd almost rather HAVE the Camry than the ES) but the 2013's are ridiculously gorgeous. I think it's the new design-language that Lexus has.
