GW2 Pooling crafting resources

I was just wondering if we had a system set up sharing crafting resources? I think I remember seeing a guild bank, but I'm not sure.

I was looking through my collectibles and and I have a reasonable amount of gems and other items that are not used by my current professions. I plan on leveling JC "eventually" but until then they are gathering dust. I there a place where I can donate all the stuff I'm not going to use to help other guildies level? And maybe later, when I'm leveling, there will be stuff there for me?

I'll admit, there's a selfish reason for this: I'm out of bank space and gems cost way too much right now, and I'm not willing to drop RL cash on it. I guess I'm hoping there's a way I can help myself and the guild at the same time.

I would recommend selling the stuff on the TP so you can convert the gold to gems or buy whatever you need.

Yes the guild bank can be deposited into with anything you wish. It is located behind the bank in Lions Arch.

Thanks! I'll probably use a combination of those strategies. Most of the mats I have right now are flooded on the TP, so the real choices are either vend or guild bank.

I wanted to try to open up one of the 100 slot bank tabs to be open to everyone, give and take as they need to. Obviously abusing that option would be a no-no, but it'll make trading a bit easier.

A WoW guild I belonged to had that policy on the first tab. Was great until one of our group had a total drama meltdown. Emptied the bank and /gquit.

The guilds I've been in previously always had it wide open except for one tab with "expensive items" like rare mats and consumables. Granted, they were medium/small guilds of mostly long-time gaming friends so the risk was pretty low. We only had one incident, and it was fixed by a GM. That said, money seems a bit tighter in GW2 right now, so the temptation for people to pillage guild banks might be a bit stronger.

Either way, I'm in favor of at least opening up one tab for "guild trades" so to speak.. keep it on the honor system. Take a penny, leave a penny, etc.. Try to put in useful things when you can, and take what you need to help you out (not to sell on the TP). Can't hurt to try it out, I'd guess. *shrug*

Also, can you restrict tab access to certain guild ranks? That also works as a decent buffer.

In a guild I was in we had a similar system where we had common materials for leveling open to all guild members to use as they needed. But, we also had required guild farming times aswell...
