What's new

Path of Exile!

If you're the type of person that likes to tinker with builds and such, there is no way you won't like it, Tr1age!

If you need some extra convincing, go check out some high level videos on YouTube. I'll try and edit some good ones into this post when I'm back at my desk.

I have decided to flip flop and not download this now lol <3

We will all play without you! :(

I made a duelist and don't remember his name, but I'll let you guys know when i hop on in a couple of hours!

Gyoin. Level 16 Duelist. Was playing with my buddy IRL and wasn't able to mumble due to multiple IRL interactions. Just finished Act 1. I like it, but I have a feeling I'll get burnt out soon.

I'm very excited to try out the other game modes that I heard about. Apparently there is one where people can join your game (or you can join others) and try to kill eachother, stealing eachothers items. Reminds me of Dark Souls. Very exciting.

The name of my Shadow is Corvos (GASP!). Sorry for not saying anything about when I jumped on last night, it wasn't a structured play session, I kept having to run away from my desk. I'll likely throw some time at in over the weekend however :)

My play time is being stretched every which way with every game right now. When I am on, I will be on mumble. I suggest everyone else that is on be on mumble as well. I'll have Tristan make a channel. NO EXCUSES!

Nice game, different. Has that diablo feeling only better.
Yeah, the passive tree is what's making the game for me. The socketing can get a little annoying if you get some nice gear stat wise, but is a waste if it has the wrong sockets for your class. Right now I made the mistake of removing some of my gear set for stats/bonuses, neglected to replace my gems, then went back into combat without an aoe/cleave ability. That made the game VERY difficult.

Decided to ditch the witch and go templar. I socketed some major magic aoe damage with a sword and shield and did range damage with magic and melee up close. I took about 25 minutes to just stare at the skill tree looking at the many possible paths i could take.

I also noticed i needed to keep my gems to socket. I went into combat and was wondered where my magic went and realized "oooo i need to keep it in play to play"

Well, it's nice that gems can be taken out and put into gear sets willy nilly. No need to destroy items or pay a fee.

I think I am going the bow/dual wield route with max life and regen for my Duelist. Pretty fun so far, and only level 6 I think! Hoping to play some this week, but have a project due in about 8 days, so I doubt it. :(

Most of the way in act 2 (level 25 ish?) I started to get one shot by exploding mobs. I started to work with some more survivability, but one of the core things with the duelist is evasion. Can't evade magic. /oneshot by magic.... So by going through a pure dex line without strength, you get killed by anything magic easily. I started to go through the strength line now, but... It's lame lol. Getting more health at least.

So strength translates into evasion, then? Good to know, but I'll have to re-do my build online, then. I did pick up some evasion for like cold, magic, shock and whatnot, but that's not til at least level 30 or so. I may get well stomped before then!
