GW2 No armor repairs in open world PvE - Cheapass trick

Here's a useful albeit very cheap trick if you want to lose monster aggro and/or avoid armor repair costs.
It's called Alt+F4.

No really, if you quit the game/return to character select while your character is still alive, then load your character once more you will return to the game with full health. If you do this while downed, you will return defeated but have taken NO armor damage.

Important note: You will NOT receive credit for any events you're in the middle of, you will leave any instance you're in, including WvW, personal stories or dungeons.

A particularly cheap trick is to go to LA or any other city with 0 waypoint cost, then join WvW. As soon as you're downed, quit before you die. You will return to your city of origin, defeated, with no armor damage. You can then respawn for free within the city and load back into WvW if there's no queue.

I do NOT condone this behavior for team play as it's really a bit of a dick move to use when you have friends about...BUT if you're soloing those WvW jumping puzzles late at night and some bastard thief keeps trying to gank you on Zraith's Beacon, this will make it a lot less costly. Also useful for ressing team mates in high level areas when you don't have stealth to break aggro.

This is indeed a cheapass trick. Luckily I'm at the point of gold accumulation that I don't care about WP costs, and I have something like 150 repair kits.

I'd go farther and call this an exploit since it is circumventing a game mechanic intended to give meaning and penalty to dying. Gold is a scarce enough resource that removing the death/repair gold sink could have negative economic effects for players who are either unaware of the exploit or refuse to use it. It could also prompt developers to add penalties such as respawn timers or deserter debuffs that nobody wants. Exploits cross a line for me personally, so I won't be taking advantage of it.

However, I would love to hear any tips or tricks that you have using intended game mechanics to limit or reduce the cost of repairs and teleporting.

Well you can always be so good you never die and never have to repair.
You can always fight naked.
You could...pretend to not be level 80 in order to pay less.
You could walk everywhere. After all, you had to get those waypoints somehow, right?

Yeah, the only real one I have is the HotM -> LA one. The prices really aren't that bad, though.
Speaking of exploits, don't be surprised if I make a rant about people exploiting anything and everything they can in dungeons just to finish it a little bit faster.
