Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
FFXI for 3.5 years. I dabbled in other games, but nothing stuck particularly well in the MMO genre

Were you a part of a guild? What was your experience?
I was part of a social shell in FFXI, but haven't found the "right" community for me yet in other games.

How did you hear about the Guild?
I first heard about the guild through the SimCity stream with Scott from Maxis, and after reading the forums and "WTF are we?" page I got the feeling that this was a friendly, intelligent, and devoted, but realistic community. That is the sort of atmosphere I am looking for.

What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
I am self-motivated, I have a robust analytical skillset, have a precise attention to detail, and a passion for problem solving, critical thinking, and creativity.

That was taken directly from the cover letter of my resume.

But honestly, I do have an analytical, but creative mind and I seek to explore the depths of various titles. In large groups I don't tend to talk very much unless I have something specific to say. I don't usually participate in banter.

However, don't mistake my quiet demeanor for contempt or shyness. I love to talk strategy, I love to help people, I'll talk about matters of art or science endlessly, or my thoughts on various facets of the gaming industry if you'd like to hear them.

Will [TAB] be the only guild you join?
That depends on a few things. I will be playing FFXIV and I'd be happy to play with people from this site, but I will seek a larger group if there aren't many people interested in playing here. I am already a member of NEODota.com as a writer and maintain parts of their website. I'm not particularly a social butterfly, however, and like to stay with smaller groups. I'd love to play SimCity with like-minded mayors.

How much time do you spend a week on Guild Wars 2 or other games?
I've never clocked my time in-game, but suffice to say that I play on a regular weekly basis, mostly at night.

Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
I have two degrees, one in art and one in chemistry. I love to talk about both art and science as they are both passions of mine. I am a strong teacher and am willing to share any and all knowledge I have with others if they are interested in learning from me. My MMO portfolio is rather small, but don't mistake that for a lack of devotion. Once I find something I enjoy, I stick with it.

While this app is rather sparse, your blog/portfolio does tell me quite a lot about you. I'm a little concerned about how little you might be participating in the community, but I like what I've seen/read off the site. Certainly, it'd be nice to have some more people who can stream/post videos. I'm going to give a tentative +1 for a trial, but let's see what the others think.

The trouble I had with filling out the application is that my interest in joining the community is centered around two games that haven't yet been released, so I'm not sure what to say. I'm generally quiet but love creating content for others. If this community clicks you can be sure that I'll contribute thoughtful content.

You're one of the names that I remember from the SimCity live stream, and I like your forum participation so far; while it's clear that you quickly wanted to fill your minimum requirement of five posts for your application, I nevertheless feel that the things you posted were a contribution to the forums.

It's a +1 from me. Just stay active on the forums - you don't need to post x messages a day, but we'd like to get to know you a bit while you're on trials. ^^

Sure thing. I've been looking for a new community as I've grown tired of reddit after over 3 years. Even the smaller subreddits get tiresome.

I agree with everything above. We value the participation on the forums highly and we hold the community to a high standard of FUN and Maturity. So all works well even if there is no game to play right now that you are signing up for.

ALSO Your images of nature are quite great the macro photos are awesome! I can say I am terrible at shooting anything that can't talk back to me. That being said though can I give a small piece of advice:

That photo focal point is on her bracelet. I am assuming you either shot a prime lens to achieve this shot or just kinda missed the focus, but her EYES are the most important part of this image. They NEED to be in focus. I would personally remove it from a resume because of that. I am SO anal about eye focus. There has to be an EXTREME reason not to have it. Even if the bracelet was the main focus the eyes would need to be in focus too unless there was more body or less face. =)
