Hey, I'm Absolem, but my name will probably be different ingame, as Absolem is a giant hookah-smoking caterpillar, and not a beastly Charr Warrior. So anyways, I'm a long time DAOC and WAR player. Loved RvR in both games. I read about GW2 when they first announced it all that time ago, read the "When it's ready" on the FAQ and promptly lost interest. Then I heard about a release date, started casually reading about GW2, and it seemed like they were really pushing for an MMO that does something new. I feel like WoW has had a stranglehold on the industry for too long now. Every game that comes out follows, at leasy broadly, the WoW forumla. Question mark, exclamation point railroads, doing the same 3 inane mindless activies ad nauseam. Kill, collect, travel. Blah blah blah.
Then I read some articles on WvW and flipped my shit. They really made the game everyone expected and wanted Warhammer Online to be, and even took it a good step further. The WvW took me right back to DAOC endgame. Persistent zone with multiple keeps and serverwide bonuses to be stolen, and lost, and fought over! So awesome.
I usually play MMOs solely to PvP, but after watching gameplay and reading stuff about the PvE, I'm definitely going to be participating in that side of things as well, which I've literally NEVER been excited for in any other MMO I've ever played.
Anyways, in real life I reside in the state of Maine. Beautiful while being horribly boring. Moved around a lot, I was born in Germany, and lived in Belgium, the Netherlands, and in the states of CT, RI, and ME. Same bullshit pretty much everywhere as much as we like to pretend everyone's so different. Raised speaking Dutch, and still can kinda, but I'd say English is definitely my native language now. I'm a manager at a local pizza shop, pretty fun and pretty stressful, but I always make time to do the things I love, namely, playing MMOs in my freetime like a motherfucker. While listening to audiobooks. (Recommend: Wheel of Time, Stormlight Archive, Dresden Files, Iron Druid Chronicles, download naow!)
Anyways, glad to be aboard, hope to see you all in game soon. It can't be soon enough.

Nice to meet you all. I've read through ALMOST all of them now.
