What games do you wish to play with the alttabme community?
I don't play any currently but I do play GW2, Rift, and will be playing Wildstar.
Class/Race(if applicable)
Usually Human for my first character, unless there are some over powered racials for my class type on other races.
What role do you wish to play in the guild? For example: PvP, PvE, Casual/Social
I am a casual gamer. I use to be hardcore back in the day, but as I've grown older the time to play games has slowly disappeared. I mostly play mornings before work or either late at night. Because of the random hours I play I find myself trying all different game styles. I'm mostly a PvE guy, but I'll dabble in PvP. I am a healer first, dps/tank secondary.
Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
GW2: I played at release for 3 months. Took a break and came back with one of the recent big patches and played for another 4 months. I am not currently playing the game atm, but can easily swing back in. I've got one lvl 80 Elementalist. I loved the different take this game had compared to the more contemporary MMOs that I was use to. The action gameplay and story telling were superb. I just don't think there was enough variation to keep me coming back without a support/guild structure. I played with a group of 6 friends. When they were on, it was fun, but it was hard to schedule stuff around all of our schedules.
Rift: This was the game that finally got me to quit WOW. I've played Rift for years. Started at release and ended up putting in 236 hours (according to Raptr). I've taken multiple breaks but always find myself going back to it. Came back for Storm Legion but got burnt on the level grind to 60. Going back again now that it is going F2P. I think it was the best decision they could make (personally because I want to play but don't want to pay). I have 3 characters at 50+ and multiple other alts.
WOW: I played WOW for 6+ years. Raided heavily in vanilla and BC. Still enjoyed the game in Wrath and Cata, but it just wasn't the same. I haven't (thankfully) broken down and bought Mists. I'm thankful for what WOW did for me and my gaming skills. It was what got me into MMO gaming. I still follow it on forums and what not, just to be in the know, but I'm glad to be rid of the beast.
I've also dabbled in SWTOR, Neverwinter, DCUO, and STO. More to check them out but they never really stuck. Really wish I didn't waste my money on SWTOR at release.
Non-MMO genre games I'm interested in are Diablo 3 and Team Fortress 2. I also have a laundry list of Steam games to get through one of these days....
Were you a part of a guild? What was your experience?
Lately, I've been in the small close knit guilds with me and a group of personal friends. Finding time to get us all together to do stuff is difficult (usually once a week). However, when we find the time it is really a great time.
I've been in large, raiding guilds before. Mostly in WOW but also Rift. I was a raid leader and officer of a guild in vanilla WOW where I lead guild progression raids of Molten Core and BWL. Those were some of my fondest memories of gaming and really long for those times again. I'm hoping Wildstar will offer that experience for me and I hope I can find the time to participate.
How did you hear about the AltTabMe?
I found AltTabMe on Reddit. Someone had posted your What is Wildstar video on the Wildstar forums where I have been lurking. I checked out the podcast, loved the format, and have been checking the forums out since.
What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
I'm looking for a community. I don't just want to play games. I want a place where I can interact with other gamers and talk about games. I want a place where I can find help with issues and be able to pay it forward and help someone else. I'm going to participate in this community because I want to get participation out of it.
How much time do you spend a week on games?
15-20 hours a week. Usually spaced out across multiple days. I am not a sit down and game for 8 hours kind of person.
Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
I'm a gamer. I take it seriously, but I am not a serious person. I need a place to unwind (not just in game, but say at work on the forums) with other gamers.
Have you finished all of the prerequisite requirements?
Yes (I read and replied to the rules, I understand I must be active on the forums to stay on the roster, and I have a minimum of 1-2 posts(other than this application), and I made sure those posts weren't just bullshit)
