YOU GOT IT!?!?!? I gate you so much right now. I spent 2400 gems to try to get it and failed on all my key black lion chest attempts. DAMMIT
 
lol I spend 10 keys trying to get it like an hour after the halloween update, only to find they hadn't even put it in the chests yet.
 
160 chests. No sword, but I got the shield. On the TP now for 27g, hoping it sells before the prices drop too hard this weekend.
 
That pic is on reddit. Also there is a 1% chance to get any of them. I've heard of people opening 200 chests and getting nothing. That's just how gambling works. I tried 5 chests and didn't get anything. :<

I was under the impression from GW1 events that the holiday items would be rather easy to get because it is the holidays and stuff like this should be fun. :<

I have personal issues with gambling, so no matter how much I want these I just hope I can buy it off the TP for a reasonable price. ><

You can also craft it if you are a weapon smith.
 
Wow. I would never take that thing off, even though 27g is really tempting since I'm perpetually broke.. I used 5 keys so far, no halloween goodies, now I see why (I wasn't expecting armor or anything, but damn, gimme some candy at least! :'()

Spent 2400 worth of gems for keys and got jack. blah Waste of gems.
 
Btw the crafted versions of the weapon skins will cost well over 150g to make but the items will be full items not just skins and sellable on the TP.

Do we know the specifics of these? Also is there more than just those weapons? I mean i would love an awesome pistol to go with that shield skin if I make it. I know there is a gift created in the mystic forge using crafting materials from the event thats involved but people were vague on what else they needed, besides a shitload of Elonian wine.

Also I have like another 300 chests I am probably going to open...ugh spent too much money on keys lol. I did get the one-handed chainsword skin and it promptly sold on the AH for 5g as soon as I listed it. the greatsword and shield are the ones everyone wants.

They seem to be on the same track as the special exotics like foefire and mjolinar. Kind of defeats the purpose if the skins are in the game though.

Here's what we know so far. There are 3 craftable exotics that corespond to the temporary 4 hour skins you can buy in LA. They are Arachnophobia, The Crossing, and The Mad Moon.
Each of these items corresponds to a new craftable gift.
Arachnophobia = Gift of Spiders (Huntsman)
The Crossing = Gift of Souls (Artificer)
The Mad Moon = Gift of the Moon (Weaponsmith)
Each gift recipe needs to be learned by creating the recipe in the Mystic Forge. The recipe to create the recipe is:
250 Candy Corn
10 Crystalline Dust
40 Elonian Wine
100 Rare Halloween Materials (Nougat = Souls, Skulls = Moon, Teeth = Spiders)
Once you have created the recipe in the mystic forge you can craft it with a 400 level crafter.
Gift of the Moon:
  • Gift of Thorns (500 TA tokens)
  • 250 Orichalcum Ingots
  • 20 Globs of Ectoplasm
  • 100 Corrupted Lodestones
Gift of Spiders:
  • Gift of Ascalon (500 AC tokens)
  • 250 Orichalcum Ingots
  • 20 Globs of Ectoplasm
  • 100 Destroyer Lodestones
Gift of Souls:
  • Gift of Knowledge (500 CoE tokens)
  • 250 Orichalcum Ingots
  • 20 Globs of Ectoplasm
  • 100 Crystal Lodestones
Beyond this I am unclear on. It hopefully is a simple recipe once you've crafted the unique gift because you've invested over 100g at that point.

Total cost of crafting The Crossing:
  • 530 Orichalcum Ore
  • 250 Candy Corn
  • 100 Nougat Center
  • 100 Charged Lodestone
  • 54 Ancient Wood Log
  • 40 Elonian Wine
  • 25 Glob of Ecto
  • 10 Crystalline Dust
  • 5 Fine Crafting Material
  • 1 Gift of Knowledge (500 CoE Tokens)
Total cost of crafting Arachnophobia:
  • 530 Orichalcum Ore
  • 250 Candy Corn
  • 100 Destroyer Lodestones
  • 100 Plastic Fangs
  • 42 Ancient Wood Log
  • 40 Elonian Wine
  • 25 Globs of Ecto
  • 10 Crystalline Dust
  • 6 Hardened Leather
  • 5 Fine Crafting
  • 1 Gift of Ascalon (500 AC Tokens)
And finally, The Mad Moon:
  • 538 Orichalcum Ore
  • 250 Candy Corn
  • 100 Corrupted Lodestones
  • 100 Chattering Skulls
  • 40 Elonian Wine
  • 30 Ancient Wood Logs
  • 25 Globs of Ecto
  • 10 Crystalline Dust
  • 5 Fine Crafting
