ALTTABME City - Membership List and Theorycraft

i dont mind what server we play, just let me know :D

FWIW, the names of the servers really have nothing to do with where the servers are physically located. We named them that in hopes people would *think* the names relate to location and since most people normally pick the server which is closest, people would naturally distribute themselves across the servers instead of everyone just picking the first available. :)

Tristan picked west 1 on the NA servers. He is having some problem seeing his friends for inviting in game though.
 
I am a SimCity enthusiast.. What else can I say? I have followed the game and its development. As a CS student I like to try and understand the Glass Box system and exploit the game to make the most of my city. I am slightly OCD, so grid is best for me. I think water and sewage are some of the most difficult things for the average SimCity player. I've learned this by watching several streams of beta and some developer stuff! It'll be interesting to see the game play out! It would be fun to get a region together as I don't know anyone else who plays SimCity YET! :D
 
Ok since servers are BORKED and friends list is BORKED we will make our official city tomorrow when I wake up. This is too much of a pain in the arse right now. So play with yourselves for now teeheeee

Welcome! I'd like to see you around and get input about managing that stuff. Maybe you could make a thread with some theorycrafting/advice?

I played for a couple hours last night. I had to abandon my first city because I screwed it up royally. My second went a little better, but I'm not at all sure I'm placing things where they make any kind of strategic sense. The Origin friendlist was working perfect for me up to and during download. Once the game was up, the friendlist was completely broken. Couldn't see anyone, couldn't message anyone, couldn't add friends. I hope EA fixes this immediately. It's kind of important for what has been extensively marketed as a social game.[DOUBLEPOST=1362510771][/DOUBLEPOST]That's sexy! I ordered a physical copy because I could use credit card points for physical but not digital items from Amazon and I'm watching my road for the UPS truck like a hawk.

BTW: School buses sound very similar to UPS trucks.

EDIT 2: UPS truck just drove by my house. COME BACK YOU GUY WITH MY VIDEO GAME.

EDIT 3: Okay, he came back. Guess he was going down the line of houses on the other end of the street first. In any case, I have my game!
 
I know tristan posted this somewhere else, but the servers and friends lists are kinda borked so no official server yet for group play. Just play around where you want and he will officially post a server for those of you who are gonna be in the first region.
 
Yes t1g is correct at the moment shit is pretty borked. When it all gets worked out we will start invites for now enjoy the game yourself. Personally I am going to log off for now from it because it is really bugged to hell right now and it is more frustrating than anything else.
 
Yeah, I got your invite to play in the region, Tr1age, and I started a map, but it crashed to desktop and didn't show that I claimed the space when I returned. I have two other friend requests that I can't accept yet due to server issues as well. I'll keep trying over the next few days to get back in.
 
Yeah once this is fixed we are gonna restart the region cause no one is where they wanna be due to it.

I"m in the same boat, bro.

Got in, started up, then crash.
 
So far though I've made three cities. A coal an ore and a gambling. Gambling did amazing Til the nuclear plant erupted and a meteor shower hit. I was fucked at that point.

Will be way more fun when our actions happen faster to help each other.

Btw. The great works must be unlocked by all cities to upgrade it I think. I dropped a mil on an archeology and it just sat there.

It is messed due to server issues. I saw it update before I logged this evening and I am able to contribute resources.
 
Ok UPDATE:
We will be STAYING with US WEST 1 for the time being. If we find that the problems persist through the week we will consider moving. BUT FOR NOW please do not tell anyone we are on a different server, if you wish to play on a different server with your own region, you may, but I can guarantee you the problems are on all servers from what I have seen.

ALTTABME Cities will be on US WEST as of this moment in time. Make sure to add me to Origin so I can invite you.
