Hello!

I've never done an AMA before, so I'm not sure how to open this up.

I'm a life-long gamer, YouTube content creator since 2011, and in real life, a training analyst for the U.S. Army (civilian contractor, not actually in the Army).

Axe me some questions!

Are you a pirate or do you just enjoy cats sitting on your shoulder? IMO pirates should have cats for pets and not parrots.

What is the largest cut of meat you've ever eaten in one sitting?

Oh hi!

Ok why is spaghetti one of your thread tags?

I think everyone has a particular word that pops into their head randomly on a regular basis. For some reason, the word in my head is spaghetti. It's an enigma.

I think it would seriously up a pirate's "toughness" cred if he walked around with a cat on his shoulder. They'll take your eye out quicker than a parrot will, IMO. But I am not a pirate unfortunately. Fluffy (pictured) is my first cat. Growing up I was very allergic to cats. I found out a short time ago that you can adapt to living with a cat, and sure enough, after a few days my allergy symptoms were gone. Now I'm a happy cat owner. The picture of her on my shoulder/chair was taken because I was simply happy to have this fuzzy little creature that would be watching me play around on my computer, lol.

That's...a tough one actually. I can't recall... Off the top of my head, I'd say the biggest steak I've had was a 16oz sirloin.

I thought it was just me. Mine's "butterscotch". I don't even like butterscotch.

Which type(s) of training(s) do you analyze? How do you get into that field?

How long have you had a beard for?

Proudly bearded for about 7 years. :) Up until the age of 23 or so, I could only manage a kind of shitty neck beard that didn't reach my jaw line, so I kept myself clean shaven. After I started noticing the stubble creeping up to my cheeks I started growing it out.

Have you ever shot a gun in RL and if yes, which one(s)?

I have! I've shot a semi-automatic pistol, a revolver, a shotgun which I still own, an AR15, a .22 semi-automatic rifle, a bolt action hunting rifle, and a bolt action mosin nagant (old russion battle rifle). I LOVE guns.

:D

My job centers around rotary wing aircraft. Specifically helicopters. Now as exciting as that sounds, I don't spend any time with actual aircraft or pilots. The army are the ones doing the training, I fill more of a support role to the trainers in an office setting. Watching the aircraft move around the training area on my computer, and talking to the trainers on the radio, that kind of thing. We collect data about the training, and turn it into usable products for their after-action reviews, that sort of thing. :)

Why so grim?

It's just always been my nature, lol. Friends were always telling me I was grim, so it kind of stuck when I was deciding what moniker to use for my youtube channel.

How many games are grim?

The bestest games are grim games. It's one of the reasons I love post apocalyptic games, because they're bleak and gritty.

I'm ashamed to say this, but I've never played Grim Fandango! I'm a fucker, I know. I'll play it one day.

So sorry, I didn't see your question!

Basically, where I work is like a big war simulation. The units go into the training area (a big desert), they set up their TAAs (Tactical Assembly Areas) and they duke it out with another unit who's playing the "bad guys" or opposing force.

While this is all going on, there's what they call an OCT (Observer/Combat Trainer) who shadows the different sections of the unit and assesses their skills. They pass their assessments on to my office, who puts everything together into a big, pretty powerpoint presentation, and a couple of times throughout their rotation, they get taken aside and given a briefing on their assessment so far.

I rather lucked into the position, as normally they require military experience to get the job. I happened to come along when they were short on personnel and put in an application. 8 years later, I'm still on the job, so I guess I did something right. :)

Do you have any "non-gaming" hobbies?

.........no. :(

Well...I love movies. Does that count?!

Edit: I should clarify. I used to have a lot of hobbies. Artist, writer, 3D modeler...but I gradually lost interest in those things. Lost my inspiration so to speak.
