Wildstar Wildstar Business Model Revealed.

Waiting for the "You were right" >_>

Lol, it wasn't a question of right/wrong. It was about clarification. I saw it as going either way based upon how it was worded. You didn't, and that's okay. I got my clarification and am happy since that's the answer I was hoping for. :)

I'm gonna bookmark this so I can show my kids what poor winners and losers look like.

What, your kids don't get enough of looking at losers w/you around the house?[DOUBLEPOST=1377118902,1377118871][/DOUBLEPOST]:p[DOUBLEPOST=1377118944][/DOUBLEPOST]Lol, don't sad panda that you set yourself up for that one!

Now, I am happy and not happy about the subscription set up. Subbing to a game is for fine (even though I can be short for cash at times...) it works, it helps the game develop further, and it is overall good. Now here is my concern, we are buying the game out right aswell as paying sub, now that's fine aswell. But because we are paying sub all expansions to the game should be free! I do not want a repeat of WoW, Highest sub game also have to buy every expansion at silly price.

From my conversions at the moment £10 a month to play wild star, at its dearest form is good pricing.

I can't say I agree w/free expansions. While that would be nice, I don't think it's fair. Of course of the flip side of that, I don't think expansions should cost any more than 50% of the original base game either.

How fair pricing will be arbitrated is via quality and quantity of content we'll be seeing on a regular basis. *If* the regular content updates are on par with expansions like TBC (WoW), Ruins of Kunark through Planes of Power (EQ), then I honestly wouldn't mind paying for an expansion. However, at that point I honestly don't know what would define expansion because the content updates would be nigh-expansions themselves.

*If* the regular content updates are more akin to one or two major raid encounters, a bit of lore fluff...think 'Heart of Fear' /'Rain of Fear' / 'Shadow of Fear' from EQ...then I think paying for a major update expansion would still be reasonable, if the price was $9.99 USD to $12.00 USD.

*If* the regular content is something more akin to a few gear up possibilities or raid keys (IE a 'pre raid' update) followed by a raid update with little else, I think your premise is totally spot on. This is honestly a content model I'm not looking forward to and hope Carbine can largely avoid.

Found this post over at Wildstar Central by one of the Carbine devs, CRB_Gortok.

"We have both the Commodities Exchange and an Auction House. The CX is really only for high traffic generic items like crafting materials. Our current implementation of the CX has several metrics to tell you the "going price" for the item you are trying to sell. We would like to add more later. If we "influence" the CX or the AH, it will be done in visible ways. We have no intention of trying to hide any sort of market manipulation (doin' it in plain sight, sure!)"

I love that they're going to be transparent w/the manipulation of it, when/if there is some. I find it a bit odd that they're going to mix regular in-game items in with the purchased-for-money items though. I kind of got the feeling that they were going to keep these separate. That way if they did decide to implement another system later where you can buy cosmetic items for money (like dye packs), then you could also buy/sell those on the CX.

“We have to earn every subscriber we get. We don’t get to be Star Wars where you loved it as a kid, and now you get the game. We don’t get to be blah, blah 3. No we’re a new IP and a new developer, we have to earn everybody’s money and respect with the game,”

Can I marry carbine?

Considering 'corporations are people...' , I don't see why not.
