The more I play Rift the more I feel like I am playing WoW. Kinda makes me wonder what Mists is like....

Lol I made such a clean cut from that game. I have no need to go back, no feelings of love for it, nor do I miss it. I had some good memories, but it will never be like my UO nostalgia. Was WoW your first game? Maybe it is a first game thing...

It has to be a first game thing. I had so much trouble quitting, resubbing, relapsing, whatever. All the other games I've played since I needed to compare it to. Maybe thats why I like Rift so much because it had a lot of the elements of what I liked in WoW in a new shiny format.

Got my rift account back but I'm a bit overwhelmed logging onto my level 50 warrior. I have no idea what anything does anymore and he's on the guardian side or whatever the good guys are called. Might just re-roll if I do play, but I'm not too crazy about it. =/

Nah, my first MMO was Shadowbane. Well...first graphical MMO. Rift just feels so similar to wow...but in some ways inferior that I feel I might as well play WoW. I left WoW mostly due to their destruction of PvP; unfortunately this not only affected WoW but every MMO to launch afterwards (nowadays kiddies need a 'ooooh shiny' just to PvP. The gift of PvP is the killing, not the purplez). I have gone back every expansion out of boredom but didn't go back when Pandara came out.

November, even *IF* that is launch time for WS, is still a really far ways away.

WoW was my first MMO. I only quit because I was having kids and having to work 70+ hours a week at a commission only job, so I had no time to play, which meant I couldn't justify the expense. Now that I could afford the time and subscription, I just don't feel like playing catch up. A friend of mine did the Scroll of Resurrection thing for me in Cata, so I got the expansion for free. I played during the week they gave me, completing the new races' starting areas and leveling to 84. I had no desire to re-up with a subscription though.

I think Rift is going to be a good bubble wrap for me. I'm enjoying the small amount of nostalgia it provides. The questing experience is definitely subpar to WoW's system. But Rift is F2P. There'd be something seriously wrong with WoW if Rift could compete on equal footing.

It may be a first MMO thing. WoW was mine and I still have nostalgia for it. The only thing that made me quit and keeps me from going back is that I feel like I "beat the game" when I got my legendary and cleared the top end hard mode raid. The second I finished it I was like, "I'll never get this far in the game again" It was downhill from there and no need to go back.

I played EQ, FFXI, and EQOA before I got into WoW. I have nostalgic moments in all of them, but WoW more due to, well, more time.

More time = more memories. More over it was memorable moments with the same people. I'm hoping Wildstar can help create some more of those memories.

man i was doing the leveling thing all wrong. You can mentor yourself down to 14 and the XP is the same in IA's at that level as it is at the higher levels. Difference is, there are WAY MORE and you complete them MUCH faster in the 14 level area.

SUNOVA.

Also more plat and rewards. About 50x the chests and Keys for chests.

/slaps self...

almost 50! :)

So do our free accounts get level 60? Is it worth it to go to level 60? What is offered at 60 that isn't at 50?

Yes the free accounts get to 60. 60 is where all the end game is now. There are dungeons, experts (heroics), raids, world vs world vs world pvp, and the high end pvp ranks.
