As to be expected, Microsoft has a date set to tease us with their new system. The date is looking to be May 21st.
It looks like they will follow the lead on what Sony did and only give us a little info here and wait till E3 to do the big unveil.

There are a few things i am concerned with about this system, they want to have an "always on" connection to the internet. If i remember correctly SimCity tried this route and failed miserably at it. A lot of companies have tried this path and couldn't get it to work right. What makes Microsoft think they can get it right.

Pricing- from my delving and google searches i have come across a medium number of $500 American dollars. Where-as it is likely that the Ps4 will sell for around $400 dollars.

I am a little skeptical about what Microsoft plans but to me it only seems like it wants to attract the hardcore xbox fanboys to buy this system.

(A lil biased *lick: but sue me)

Hmm... I'm somewhat in the same boat. The rumors for the 720 aren't very good, but I won't jump to conclusions until they actually give us more information. The always online function was hopefully just an idea they we're thinking of, because I honestly see it being a HUGE mistake not only from a customer stand point but from a business one as well. They have to know that any benefits gained by having an online console would be negated and surpassed by the losses from people without internet or just not wanting to put up with that.

On a positive note, I hope that Microsoft gains better exclusives, as the selection for the 360 was good, but meager. I've heard that Call of Duty might go this route with the 720, which would be a huge gain for Microsoft.

Anyhow, I look forward to hearing more information. Hopefully the controller design is cool, I actually really like "the brick."

I have never been a console fan. PC all the way. Now that they are moving to such harsh drm standards I will probably never pick one up.

I'll admit, ever since I converted to the PC, I haven't had too many reasons to go back to my consoles. However, I still think that console exclusives and the multiplayer experience they provide will keep them relevant for me. I mean, playing online with friends is great, but there's nothing quite like being next to the person your wiping the floor with in Smash Bros or something.
