Well that was quite the post. Look forward to getting to know you and your husband and maybe dog as it barks for attention when wildstar is released.

Welcome! If you are interested in working with PCs you might want to look into Systems Biology. It´s about using statistics to figure out stuff that is related to Biology. For example: What side effect will this medicine have, if we compare it to other medicine. Or if you have this arrangement of genes, this treatment is the right one for you. Or the chances to get cancer is x% because you did the following in your life.
Stuff like this. It´s closer to informatics than it is to biology, so don´t worry if you can´t get into this.
The programming language R is required, but this is pretty easy to learn.

Poke around especially in the all the things forum. We have threads on books to read, and things to cook. Too bad WS wont be out for months, but this site should keep you occupied in the meantime.

Thanks.. that's actually very interesting. I'm not sure my mathematical/statistic skills are strong enough, but it appeals to the OCD side of me. Library sciences have a more analytical rather than statistical bend, which is why I'm looking that direction. I enjoy the research more than I do the compilation of it.
 
Hey Mali! Is your husband joining us in the forums as well? It's great to see more people join the forum. I can't wait to be able to play some WS together. While we wait we can chat on the forums or mumble. I haven't been able to join the chat box or mumble at all cause I'm in the process of moving myself. Hopefully after the 25th of this month I'll be able to pop in and get to know you guys better.
