HELLO FRIENDS.
I am a member of a local charity group called Rated M for Marathon; we do marathon streaming sessions to raise money for Child's Play Charity. If'n you don't know about Child's Play, it's a charity founded by the creators of Penny Arcade to provide toys and games for children in hospitals and abuse shelters all over the country. This results in higher compliance rates, happier kids and less stress for parents. If you want to learn more, go on and check out their
website.
Anyway, this weekend is our next marathon, BioThon Part Two. A few months ago, we had a mini-marathon of Dragon Age: Origins. Now we're spending 48 hours playing through Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, and we'll keep right on going into 3 if we reach that funding goal. Join us at twitch.tv/ratedmformarathon to partake in the fun! I work the night shift, so you can usually catch me on stream between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. or so. Coincidentally, this is the period of time where you can spend money to force me to drink alcohol. As much alcohol as you want. Please don't kill me.
This is a great cause and it's one of my favorite examples of gamers rising above the negative reputation we get from the press sometimes. If you want to tune in just to see me humiliate myself, come on down! We have rewards for donations, rewards for follower gains, a raffle for all donors; and if there's something you want to see us do that isn't on the list we can almost always negotiate a price. If you have money, give sick children money! If you don't have money, your support still means the world to us! Likes, shares, postcards, carrier pigeons, smoke signals... whatever you can do to spread the word is just tremendous.
So join us in chat for a weekend of no sleep, lots of liquor, and most of all, helping kids who could really use it.
Thanks,
Erik
