So... I love arpg's, sort of addicted. Sadly, Diablo 3 has just died for me. Haven't logged into D3 for quite sometime and just stopped keeping up with it altogether. So I been looking at two different upcoming ARPG's, Path of Exile and Grim Dawn. After watching multiple streams, reading and studying builds and gameplay, and sorta playing in the past open beta weekends. Finally decided to pay for a supporter pack for PoE (Path of Exile). Was curious if anyone here happened to play it? It will be a F2P game, the cash shop isn't a pay to win, just cosmetic or whatever, and it goes into open beta supposedly in December.
 
I played the beta and it was pretty fun, I haven't got a beta code though. If I do get one I'll probably play it for a bit.
 
Yea I bought one, basically its buy their station cash points, and it comes with a beta key type a thing. Cheapest is 100 pts + key for 10 bucks. But next month it is suppose to go into open beta and it is a F2P game. So hopefully soon everyone can get on and it enjoy it for free.
 
Never heard of this game till now, but wow, I'm tempted to buy it just to mess around with that scary awesome skill tree and nothing else. *ponysmile:

The game is supposedly entering Open Beta in a couple days (with it's final character wipe at the same time). Was wondering if anyone is still interested in this game? D3 sucked, TL2 was fun but this looks to be much more expansive than TL2.

I was following this game very closely when they were first starting their closed beta stage. I was lucky enough to get a key and play around quite a bit. I loved a lot of the things I saw and experienced but disliked the town/lobby system (think the original Guild Wars). I would almost prefer if it was more a la D2 and provided a chat room based lobby with a named game search.

I still think this game shows a lot of promise and I'm definitely going to be jumping in on the open beta January 23rd/Tomorrow. They're revealing the 3rd act and a lot has changed since the closed beta system first started. Any ARPG fan will derive a good amount of fun from it. The lead game designer and producer just posted this peek into what to expect for the beta tomorrow.

For those not yet interested enough in the game to read through it, the highlights are;

- There will be a 1.5gb patch to the existing client (you can download the existing client here)
- The patch will be made available 2 hours before servers goes live at 4:00pm EST / 1:00pm PST
- If you wanted to be a supporter and/or wanted to get the supporter benefits like the pet, you have up until 2:00pm EST / 11:00am PST to buy them here.

I'm fairly sure Path Of Exile is a free to play, so it wouldn't be that bad just to try it. I love the amount of customization it offers with the Skills/Traits, it's a game I would play on the side.
 
I'm hoping to play a bit of the beta tonight, but with school in full swing already, I can guarantee my free time just got cut way the hell down. I'm gonna miss you guys :(

This is the skill tree in the game. This is the only reason why I even took a glance at the game. This absolutely made me splooge my pants on the customizable paths. As much as I love "Cookie Cutter optimization", I love coming up with quirky "Suit my own playstyle" specs.

I'll likely only be able to jump on late tonight if at all (10pm EST +). I can't remember exactly how the friend system works so if it's account based, feel free to add me with cwood154. If it's character based, I'll let you guys know what I'm able to snag.

EDIT: Ooohhh my plans may have changed! I might be on earlier than that :)
 
Also, so people know, the best way to describe PoE is gameplay of Diablo 2, Leveling system of Final Fantasy 10, and ability gains of Final Fantasy 7's Materia.

So PoE = D2+FFX+FFVII

If you're the type of person that likes to tinker with builds and such, there is no way you won't like it, Tr1age!

If you need some extra convincing, go check out some high level videos on YouTube. I'll try and edit some good ones into this post when I'm back at my desk.
