What role do you wish to play in the guild? For example: PvP, PvE, Casual/Social
Everything. All at once (kidding... mostly). I've been a longtime PvE-er and I love it to bits, and so far the game is really suiting my 'go where the action is' philosophy. Need help? I'm there. You can take the monk out of GW, but apparently you can't take the monk out of the GW player. For me, the whole point of joining a guild is because you want to play with other people, and playing with other people means joining in their funtimes and keeping the sense of a community. Communities support each other's shenanigans. Communities also get really drunk and go on 3am dungeon runs... but, hem. I digress.
That being said, WvW is the bomb. Truly, so much fun to be had there. Blowing things up with giant artillery? Yes Please. I've only dabbled in PvP (AB and Fort Aspenwood/Jade Quarry in GW1) but it is amazing good times, and I've become competent at staying alive and doing my job. I would dearly love to become someone's mentee and learn moar better PvP skillz so that I could partake of those shenanigans as well.
Also: jumping puzzles. are. the best. <3 <3 <3 Anyone want a buddy to jump our way through Tyria? Because I am sooo there.
Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
Way back in the day, I joined a MUSH to fuel my Tolkien love, and hardcore-roleplayed it up for many long years. Almost ten years now. I'm still on that MUSH (albeit infrequently, though I keep in regular touch with a few of my peeps from there through the magic of cell phones). When our culture was more active, I was in charge of creating and facilitating a lot of the events, as well as helping newbies get their feet wet.
I played Everquest for about 2 years as a young teenager, wasn't very good at all, as it was my first MMO experience. Had a great time though.
I was in the beta for Star Wars Galaxies and continued playing that for about a year and a half after release. It started off a really awesome game, but then some changes were made that just weren't for me.
I've been on GW1 for about 6 years. Rolled many characters there, but my Monk was always my first love. Ran her through nearly all the content, studied builds like mad, joined many many PUGs, got my butt handed to me in PvP enough times to shape up enough to kick a few butts in return, had a great time.
I bought Aion when it first came out, had a subscription for a few months, got tired of paying when I wasn't getting all the flying around that had been promised and quit. Recently, while waiting for GW2 to come out, I picked Aion back up again. Playing a chanter was more my style, and rifting was actually pretty fun, but now we have GW2 and I don't plan on looking back.
Does the Portal 2 Co-op count as an online game? Cause I freakin' looove that game.
Were you a part of a guild? What was your experience?
On GW1 I was part of an RP guild for a couple of years. When folks were active, it was most excellent. It was a pretty tiny guild, but the people were really friendly, supportive, drama free. A lot of the RP took place on the forums, though we had a few scenes in game. Most of our ingame time was spent dungeoning or in Alliance Battles. Sadly, real life took over for a lot of folks and activity dwindled.
How did you hear about the Guild?
Somehow I stumbled across that video of you making all the Charr mesmers and going off the plank at Lion's Arch. I hadn't really considered joining a guild before that, but after following the links and reading up on your site... well, here I am. Y'all are just that awesome, but you know that already.
What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
Good viiibes. Run-on sentences. Three word sentences. Go-anywhere, try-anything attitude. Wanna hoof it across 3 zones to get to that sweet jump puzzle? Let's go! Naked? Even better!
This is always the hardest part for me: selling myself. The way I see it, we're all on this game to have a damn good time, and I want to help you do just that. We already know it's not as much fun alone, else we wouldn't be here, right? Having a silly, stubborn, supportive, fairly skilled Charrdian on your side won't hurt. It might even help.
I also bring a sense of responsibility to the community. In-game, with regards to making sure the guild has the resources it needs to keep pumpin' out the FUN, but also out-of-game friendliness, support, and good humor. After all, internet friends are people, too.
Will Arcanix be the only guild you join?
I may also be part of a tiny little private guild that is just between some close friends and I, depending on what they want to do when they finally get GW2. That guild would mainly be for us helping each other out and keeping in touch. Other than that, I see no reason or need to join any other guild.
Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
Did I mention jump puzzles??
