This latest patch caused many players to lose some amount of achievement points. Anet were very quick to respond:

Thanks for contacting us about the missing Achievement points. We are aware of an issue introduced in the last patch which has caused some Achievement points to disappear for some folks. We are preparing a fix for the problem and your points will return once it has been deployed. I don't yet have an ETA for the fix, but please watch the News & Announcements section of our official forums for update notes mentioning it.
