Do you have any friends who are Members? If so, who?
Nope, mostly just game with my 15 year old cousin these days due to all mine growing up on me lol... No, but seriously he's very very good I watch him go like 30-1 in League sometimes
Character Name(s)
Njal, Grimnar, Ulrik, generally anything I can find in Warhammer 40k Space Wolves lore. I'm a huge fan of the IP and played table top for years before getting more into online gaming.
What games do you wish to play with the alttabme community?
The one I'm most excited about is Wildstar for sure, but I do have a Steam account and own lots of games that I rarely play but given a nice community to game with I'd be up for any of them. Playing with friends is really what it's all about anyway. Even the most amazing game on earth can bore you to death if you go at it alone all the time.
Class/Race(if applicable)
Most likely from what I know I'm leaning toward a Spellslinger and probably Human or Mordesh. (think Damian... "Mooooooor deshhh"
lol
What role do you wish to play in the guild? For example: PvP, PvE, Casual/Social
This one is a bit complicated for me. If time allowed I'd do it all. If it's fun and challenging I'll do it all. Back in the early days of WoW I loved PvE and PvP but it was arouind wotlk I just quit PvE entirely. I didn't see much fun or challenge in AoE spamming multiple groups of mobs and never having to utilize CC or have to stop for mana breaks. So really, what was the point? They dumbed it down way too much for my tastes. So my gameplay over the last several years has been about 95% focused on PvP. Whether it be WoW, WAR, SWTOR, GW2 or playing some games of LoL or SMITE. I have bought several others over the years and played every major MMO release but few have been able to keep me playing more than a couple months. Now as I stated earlier in another forum post I always tend to play the range dps caster / support in almost every game I play. I love having loads of CC to peel for teammates and save lives. Yeah blowing someone up is fun too, especially when it wins games but I do tend to prioritize CC and support just naturally in my play style. In WoW I played Shaman, Paladin, and Mage mostly and in other games I usually play some sort of Priest/Mage type character. League for example I love Anivia. I feel like her support skills in that game can make way better saves with aoe snare, stun, and wall than most healers can due to long healing CDs and I can burst when needed. I just completely lost my train of thought so I'll end this one, my daughter is shooting me with a lazer gun I think practicing for when she gets older. She's 1 lol
Which previous MMO's or online games have you played and how long for?
If memory doesn't fail me... I'm sure I will forget some.
WoW since vanilla Dec 2004 and quit several times like most and went back.
WAR from launch until death about 9 months later
Aion played to lvl 20ish and didn't get into the art style and gameplay much
Rift barely got through the beginner levels figured why not just play WoW
SWTOR bought and played it through the story but never got too serious was waiting for GW2
TSW I played from launch until the release of GW2
GW2 I followed this game and was super excited for it. I was a huge follower of Tales of Tyria and Team Legacy. I just never got around to apply cause we had just had a baby and I knew there was no way I could manage being in serious guild. I finally quit when the mists and competitive PvP were completely dead. I had high hopes for this game and Anet.
Firefall from time to time, it's still in beta. Very fun combat though.
LoL... yes, it's not an MMO but the combat is still so much fun and it has a huge player base of something like 30+ million so there's always games available without standing around some deserted server.
(name any other game in the past 6 months I've probably played it) I've been pretty much jumping from game to game daily recently just trying to pass the time but all I really want to do is get my hands on Wildstar. I cannot wait for this game, it looks to have everything in place for it to be a HUGE success. I tell people imagine WoW and LoL had a baby in space.
Were you a part of a guild? What was your experience?
The only serious guilds I was in were probably over the 9 years of playing WoW. I still remember the good ol days of vanilla where you actually made friends on your server. My original guild played together through vanilla and rerolled horde together for BC and stayed together for over 2 years. We did a lot of PvP and dominated our server. At one time we had 8 HWL in the guild which to any of you that played then was ridiculous. It got to the point though eventually that when we queued into a BG the other team, because matches were server only, would recognize our names and all strip down naked and dance in the graveyard. Shortly after the guild disbanded and went off mostly to raid just because no one would fight us any more. It was great while it lasted.
Then toward the end of Wotlk, early Cata I got into a guild named Tribune that had been playing together for 7 years across multiple games and it was made up of a core of RL friends. Again a dominant PvP guild and we had loads of fun playing together and I got to know some people that I still have on friends list on LoL to this day. Sadly the guild broke up because the 2 RBG leader had issues and 1 of them left. The other one couldn't deal with the responsibility and time commitment of running everything so called it quits.
Ideally I would love to join 1 guild and play with that same group of people for years and enjoy raiding, organized pvp, and just daily goofiness and all the random sorts of things that we MMO players tend to get caught up in doing.
And Tristan... if you accept me I will let you decorate my house! lol
How did you hear about the AltTabMe?
I acquired this crazy obsession with Wildstar and began searching youtube daily for videos... ok I admit, sometimes 20-30 times daily. I discovered UDSP and then you guys and have been hooked ever since. The more I watch the more I became intrigued with all the talk of community and the hosts genuine sense of caring about getting the community active and motivated. Cant think of any place I'd rather be. And again I did consider following Team Legacy and finally applying to join them in Wildstar. What can I say, you guys won me over. =)
What will you bring to the ALTTABME community? (Chatty? Skilled? Funny? Helping?)
I like to think of myself in MMOs and helpful and knowledgeable. I'm the guy that will journey to the dark ends of the interwebs in search of every last piece of information I can when I'm researching things. I don't mind dropping things to help out a friend any time with anything they may need like a quest or whatever it may be.
Also I'd like to think I'm an experienced MMO veteran having played them extensively going on 10 years or so now. In that time I have played with and against some of the best out there in PvP and been able to learn a lot of things that work and don't work in terms of tactics and strategy. There have been times where I pretty much PvP for 12-16 hours a day including leading teams. Probably unhealthy I know. lol
Something else that comes to mind is that I just love strategy games in general so I would imagine I have that experience to offer. As I said earlier I am a huge fan of the Warhammer and Warhammer 40k games from Gamesworkshop and those games are purely about leading an army in to battle and defeating enemies and/or securing battlefield objectives.
How much time do you spend a week on games?
A lot more than I should and it gets me in trouble with my wife almost daily. If I had to be 100% honest I'd probably say on average 6 days a week for probably 4-8 hours a days... Yeah, too much. lol
Is there anything else you would like to throw in here at the end?
I know you guys dislike one liners but I'm kind of having a hard time coming up with anything. I've just spent 30 minutes typing non stop rambling my entire gaming life to you. How about just like the podcast I call it quits right here at the 30 minute mark and if you have any questions or comments you can reach me here on the forums? lol
P.S. I know how you all feel about getting applicants involved and not instantly accepting applications so I have no expectation to get in right away and I'm ok with that. I actually appreciate the fact that you guys have such a solid recruitment system in place. I'd imagine it has a way of weeding out those that aren't maybe so sure about wanting to be here. I will patiently await your decision, weeks if necessary. =)
Here's hoping for a November/December release, just don't make me wait past that please please please!
Have you finished all of the prerequisite requirements?
Yes (I read and replied to the rules, I understand I must be active on the forums to stay on the roster, and I have a minimum of 1-2 posts(other than this application), and I made sure those posts weren't just bullshit)
